EVENT

DESIGN

Events are where your brand gets tested in public.

A room full of people, a few seconds of attention, and every competitor within twenty feet. We design the brand and everything it touches on the day – stands, banners, screens and stage – so people stop, know who you are, and remember you after they've gone home.

WHAT GOOD EVENT DESIGN DOES

IT STOPS PEOPLE.

The right image at eye level does more than any amount of copy. People decide to walk over before they've decided anything else.

IT TELLS THEM WHO YOU ARE.

Recognition beats persuasion. If the brand is built properly, the stand just makes it bigger.

IT STAYS WITH THEM.

The follow-up email lands differently when they already remember the stand.

ADVISERPAY · Brand + Characters + Exhibition Stand

CHARACTERS THAT DO THE SELLING.

We built the AdviserPay brand from scratch, including five character archetypes that work alongside the logo as a recognition tool. They're familiar faces built to represent the adviser community, so the brand feels like it belongs to the people it's talking to.

At the Mortgage Expo they went six feet tall across the banners and stand, and people knew the brand before they'd read a word.

The same system carries through to the smaller pieces: business cards, screens, anything people take away with them. Get the brand right once, and every format after that has something to build on..

KANTAR · Keynote + Data Visualisation + Motion

DESIGNED FOR THE ROOM, NOT THE SLIDE.

A superwide stage and a global audience. We threw out the 16:9 template and built content across the full width of the room, so the presenter could walk and reveal ideas as he moved.

The data had to work at that scale too. A chart that reads fine on a laptop falls apart from the back of a hall, so the visuals were redrawn for the room: bolder, simpler, one point at a time.

It played out more like a show than a presentation, with the story unfolding across the stage instead of sitting on a screen behind the speaker.

COP28 · Event Identity & Motion

FINDING THE WAY THROUGH.

Climate policy is a minefield of competing topics, interests and agendas. The client's point was that dialogue is how you find a way through it, so that became the design.

Each ring is made of segments, each segment a topic or area to navigate. As a static piece it reads as the complexity of the subject. Animated, the rings turn against each other until the segments line up and reveal the path out – the line running off to the top right.

One idea, two lives: a backdrop that holds its own on a busy show floor, and a piece of motion that tells the whole story in a few seconds.

WHY WD CREATIVE

25 YEARS. GLOBAL BRANDS. YOU DEAL WITH ME.

I spent over ten years as a Design Director at Kantar, working on brands across almost every sector – FMCG, automotive, energy, finance – including Coca-Cola, Unilever, PepsiCo, Shell, Castrol, HSBC, Visa and Audi. I sat on the WPP Creative Council, then went on to win JLL's three-year global creative contract.

That's a lot of big rooms, tight deadlines and senior audiences, and every project gets the benefit of it, whatever the budget.

No account managers, no juniors – the person you brief is the person doing the work. Same standard whether it's one pull-up banner or a full build.

One studio can cover everything an event needs: the brand, the stand, the screen content, the film and the photography. Fewer suppliers, fewer handoffs, and it all looks like it came from the same place.

Based in Warwickshire, working with businesses across the UK and internationally.

PLANNING AN EVENT? LET'S TALK.

Plenty of businesses get their event materials so far on their own. Then the banner arrives and the colours are off, the logo's fuzzy at six feet, and the stand looks like everyone else's. A template will only take you so far.

Whether it's a clean, simple graphic for your business or a full concept built around a special event, I've done it enough times to know where it goes wrong, and every piece I design has a reason behind it. Tell me the event and the date, and within 48 hours you'll have first thoughts, a fixed quote and a timeline.
